This SQLite tutorial explains how to use the SQLite WHERE clause with syntax and examples.

 

Description:

The SQLite WHERE clause is used to filter the results from a SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE statement.

 

Syntax:

 

 

Parameters or Arguments:

expressions

The columns or calculations that you wish to retrieve.

tables

The tables that you wish to retrieve records from. There must be at least one table listed in the FROM clause.

conditions

The conditions that must be met for the records to be selected.

operator

The operators used to test for equality and inequality

value

The value is used by the operator

 

Examples:
The following SQLite statement selects all the employee’s who’s position “developer”, in the “Employee” table:

 

id name position hire_date
100 chiru developer 1/1/2014
103 nithya developer 6/1/2013
104 jaya developer 1/1/2014
